Research Relevance

Health technology assessment

Investigator Thomas G. Poder holds a Ph.D. in economics and is specialized in cost-benefit analysis. At the Centre de recherche du CHUS he is interested in issues of effectiveness of new medical technologies and new ways of organizing care, as well as the efficiency of their use. In this regard, he is interested in evaluating technologies such as implantable Doppler or cooling helmet, as well as the development of interdisciplinary practice. Doctor Poder is also working to develop the measurement of quality of life of patients (QALY), to study the determinants of their health and to value the benefits of medical interventions.
